P.R. Bhuyan (b. 1954) holds Ph.D. in Political Science. He graduated in English Honours from E.M. College, Balasore in 1974 and joined as a teacher in a High School. To quench his thirst for higher studies he did his M.A. in Political Science and LL.B. from the Utkal University, Orissa in 1980. He joined thereafter District Bar but due to lack of job satisfaction he left his legal profession for Lecturership at Chitrada College, Chitrada, Mayurbhanj, Orissa in 1983. He did his M.A. in History in 1985.
