Dr. H.N. Singh (Hridaya Narayan Singh) was born in 1936 at Mirzapur in U.P. Educated initially at Mirzapur and Allahabad, Sri Singh subsequently did his Ph.D. in Archaeology from R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur in 1974. Soon therefafter Dr. Singh functioned as a Faculty Member in the Deptt. of A.I.H.C. and Archaeology the aforesaid University during the academic sessions 1975-76 and 1976-77. Dr. Singh joined the Archaeological Survey of India in 1961 and retired in 1994 as Director. Dr. Preety Trivedi is Professor of Ancient History and Archaeology in Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. She earned her Doctorate in “Classification of Architectural and Sculptural Styles of Northern India (300 to 1200 CE)” under the supervision of renowned Indologist Dr. Ajay Mitra Shastri and has numerous papers in various journals, books and proceedings to her credit.
